DeSoto County sits within Mississippi’s Third Chancery District, which spans six counties along the I-55 corridor from DeSoto County down to Montgomery County. The chancery judges assigned to DeSoto County also hear cases across the other five counties in the district, which means the court’s docket isn’t yours to manage. Mississippi law calls for DeSoto County to become its own chancery district starting January 1, 2027, but until then, families here share judicial resources with five other counties.
