MISSISSIPPI LAW IS IN THE FOREFRONT OF CHILD SUPPORT, EXTENDING SUPPORT TO 21 AND TO COLLEGE

Many clients ask how long support is payable. Most think it stops at 18. That is true for many states, but not in Mississippi, where the obligation to support stretches to 21. In addition, Mississippi law allows Chancellors to order payment of college tuition, and can even award other expenses such as fraternity and sorority dues, if such payments are in line with the income and customary standard of living of the parties.
